Cigna Medicare supplement plans (Medigap) are available in 46 states. The plans offered are Plan A, Plan F, Plan F (high deductible), Plan G, Plan G (high deductible), and Plan N. These plans can help you pay Medicare out-of-pocket costs.

Cigna is one of the oldest companies in the United States. Its roots go back to the Insurance Company of North America, formed in 1792. The company has been known as Cigna since 1982.

Among its multiple insurance offerings, Cigna offers Medicare Advantage and Medicare supplement (Medigap) plans to people with Medicare. Plans are available in multiple states and help Medicare enrollees pay costs like deductibles and coinsurance.

Medigap is supplemental Medicare insurance offered by Medicare-approved private insurance companies. There are 10 different Medigap plans, labeled A through N, available.

Not every insurance company offers every plan. The tables below summarize the Medigap plans offered by Cigna and what they cover in each of the 46 states where they’re available.

Cigna Medigap coverage

The services covered will depend on the plan you choose, but all supplement plans cover some costs of Medicare that you would typically be responsible for. These include:

  • Part A coinsurance
  • Part B coinsurance
  • first 3 pints of blood
  • hospice care coinsurance and copay

In addition to these costs, some supplement plans help cover the cost of your Part A deductible and medical emergencies while you’re traveling out of the country.

In addition to the standard coverage guaranteed with all Medigap plans, Cigna offers a few additional benefits, including:

  • access to a 24/7 health information line
  • Cigna’s Healthy Rewards program offers discounts on services such as:

Your costs will depend on where you live and the plan you choose. As a general rule, plans with more coverage will cost more than plans with less. Cigna can provide personalized quotes for the plans you’re interested in.

The following table gives some example price ranges of what each plan costs per month in different areas of the United States in 2025:

Medigap is supplemental Medicare insurance offered by private insurance companies. It helps pay for expenses not covered by Original Medicare, such as deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance.

In some situations, Medigap will also cover emergency medical fees when traveling abroad. However, it only pays out after both you and Medicare have contributed to the cost of medical services.

Medigap plans don’t work with Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans. Part C plans have their own premiums, copayments, coinsurances, and deductibles. Whether Medigap or Medicare Advantage is a better option for you depends on your needs and budget.

You can use Medigap plans together with Medicare Part D (prescription drug coverage). By combining Original Medicare, Part D, and a Medigap plan, you’ll be covered for a wide range of services.

Supplement plans are standardized to be the same, no matter what state you live in or what company you buy them from. This means that a Medigap Plan N will cover the same things in Maine as it does in California, and the same things from Cigna as from another company.

However, there are three exceptions to this where Medigap is standardized differently:

Medicare supplement (Medigap) plans can help you reduce the costs you pay to use your Original Medicare coverage.

Cigna offers several supplement plans to residents of 46 states and Washington, D.C.

Plans from Cigna include Plan A, Plan F, Plan F (high deductible), Plan G, Plan G (high deductible), and Plan N. Plan F is only available if you were eligible for Medicare before 2020, but Plans N and G offer similar coverage.
